Remove the Splinters and Watch the Body Heal

"Splinters" Book Review

This is a book written in layman's terms. It's straight-forward, deconstructs the overly complex medical jargon and appeals to common sense...which is probably why it goes over the medical industry's head. And that's kind of the whole point.

Dr. Gerald Smith has been practicing medicine all over the world for over 50 years, and in his book he has outlined numerous case studies of seemingly "miraculous" cures, only he claims that they are anything but. In fact, his cures are almost too simple. His approach is to look for the root cause of each ailment in each individual patient. In contrast to the standard method of care, which treats broad symptoms over root causes, Dr. Smith shows over and over again how acknowledging that every ailment has a root cause (and the body doesn't just randomly attack itself or randomly succumb to germs) is the biggest hurdle that medical practitioners are facing when it comes to helping their patients. At times he goes even further and shows real life examples of doctors having unintentionally done more harm than good, while the true cure was under their noses all along.

This is an eye‑opening book. It challenges the status quo of medical care and backs it up with case after case of simple treatment methods that worked to quickly and "miraculously" cure heart disease, migraines, cancer, infections, chronic pain and so on. Armed with the knowledge that there are other (more) effective treatment methods, patients will be able to have some control over their own health.

Here's hoping the medical industry as a whole will come to understand the role they have played in creating this world of chronic illness, and will then realize the power of simplicity in correcting their errors. Taking a look at Dr. Smith's book would certainly be a start.

Post-cancer Treatment’s Loss of Quality of Life

in His Own Words

The one issue oncologists do not discuss with you is the loss of quality of life following chemo therapy. Their idea of successful treatment is killing the cancer. Unfortunately the poison that they use has serious side effects which will rob you of energy, mental acuity, emotional instability, memory loss, and loss of that sense of well-being.

This was the case with Hallal. He had chemo therapy in 2010 for cancer and experienced post-treatment issues of chronic fatigue, emotional issues which included irritability and changes in mood. He also presented with several other medical complaints: chronic sciatic pain in his left hip and pain in his upper neck. There were two common denominators to all these issues: cranial distortions, which affected his entire spine and an under‑active thyroid, which weakens muscles and ligaments and affected the function of his brain. An overlaying factor was the presence of pronation of his feet. Foot pronation invariably causes an ascending lesion up the spine causing upper cervical neck instability. A practitioner can treat the symptoms forever but until they define the underlying cause the patient will never get rid of the pain and other symptoms.

When patients have a past history of chemo therapy, practitioners must focus on detoxing the body. Why? Because the toxic chemicals become trapped within the various tissues and organs of the body and cause dysfunction. One of the principal organs affected is the thyroid. Dysfunction in this organ was the source for this patient’s mental and emotional state, muscle and ligament instability, mental acuity, fatigue, and loss of that sense of well-being. An effective detox program resulted in dramatic changes for Hallal. His energy, mood swings, and sense of well-being improved tremendously. Adjustment of his cranium released tension down his spine and relieved his sciatic pain. Insertion of foot supports stabilized his pronation and helped alleviate his neck pain. The key to successful treatment is define the “splinters” and remove them. Unfortunately, conventional medicine has no understanding of how the body really works and their solution is to use drugs to the mask the symptoms.
